Job summary

The Senior Solution Designer shapes the technology and digital landscape by designing enterprise-wide initiatives across back-end systems.

Reporting to the Director, Solution Design, you will lead functional design across platforms, drive 1-3 year roadmaps, and mentor teams while aligning with business goals and architecture

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience as a Solution Designer or in a similar role.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication with stakeholders and architects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of innovative, robust, and scalable technical solutions across enterprise applications and platforms.
• Translate business requirements into high-level architecture and detailed technical designs.
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, architects and stakeholders to ensure alignment between technical and business goals.
• Document the designs and patterns, and maintain the application's technical functionality, infrastructure, database, interfaces and integrations artefacts.
• Lead the design of cost-effective and innovative solutions to meet business objectives, and also maintain and enhance existing applications.
• Develop 1-3 year technology roadmaps to align with the corporation’s overall vision and strategy.
• Spearhead multiple complex projects involving strategic solutions, new technologies and innovations.
• Act as the lead designer, and interface with the project teams by arranging and moderating design review sessions to walk stakeholders through, and ensure that the overall design aligns with business and project requirements as well as architectural directions.
• Support and mentor other designers, and developers through knowledge sharing, collaboration and effective problem solving.
