Job summary

The City of Hamilton is seeking a Superintendent Energy and Utilities to lead a dynamic team delivering energy and utilities programs across corporate facilities. You will drive lifecycle renewal projects, manage energy policies, and ensure cost-effective energy procurement and reporting.

Reporting to the Director, you will develop business cases, supervise staff, and partner with internal departments and external agencies to advance energy conservation and Net Zero goals.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering or related discipline; PMP/CEM asset.
• Strong understanding of mechanical/electrical systems (HVAC, boilers, automation).
• Experience with energy procurement, billing verification and capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead Energy and Utilities programs and lifecycle renewal projects.
• Develop and manage energy conservation strategies and budgets.
• Oversee energy procurement, rate strategies and invoicing across utilities.
• Collaborate with other departments, agencies and utilities.
