Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a Senior Energy Optimization & Controls Engineer to develop advanced control, forecasting, and optimization for solar, BESS, EV charging, microgrids, and DERs. You will design EMS algorithms for DER coordination across devices, sites, and fleets, and validate embedded control software using model-based design.

You will explore AI, digital twins, and grid modernization while collaborating with product, firmware, software, and cloud teams to improve grid interaction

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Controls, Energy Systems, or related field.
• At least 5 years of industry experience in controls, optimization, energy management systems, DERs, or power electronics products.
• Strong background in control system design, modeling, simulation, and optimization including MPC.

Responsibilities

• Define and develop advanced control, forecasting, and energy optimization strategies for solar, storage, EV charging, and microgrid applications.
• Design and implement EMS algorithms for DER coordination at device, site, and fleet levels.
• Develop optimization solutions for energy arbitrage, demand response, demand charge reduction, and time-of-use optimization.
• Develop forecasting models for solar, load, EV charging, and electricity prices.
• Apply model-based design and advanced control techniques.
• Model and simulate energy systems using MATLAB/Simulink, Python, and related tools.
• Design, deploy, and maintain applications on embedded Linux and cloud platforms with Docker/Podman.
• Develop and validate embedded control software; support HIL/CIL and Digital Twin validation.
