Job summary
GE Vernova is seeking a Software Consulting Engineer to lead architecture and development of advanced software platforms for T&D configuration systems. You will shape digital grid solutions, guiding secure, scalable, and interoperable toolchains across cloud, edge, and desktop deployments.
The role requires collaboration with embedded, power systems, and UI/UX teams, along with customer engagements and industry-standard compliance. Canadian-based position with strong leadership focus.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Extensive software engineering experience including technical leadership or software architecture role.
Responsibilities
- Define architecture for scalable, secure software platforms for T&D configuration systems.
- Oversee cloud-native platform design using .NET, Java, Python, TypeScript for desktop/edge/cloud deployments.
- Lead IEC 61850 engineering workflows integration into automated tooling ecosystems.
- Collaborate with firmware, UI/UX, and power systems teams for coherent design.
- Promote secure SDLC and DevSecOps practices across projects.
- Drive reuse of software components across product lines and ensure lifecycle management.
- Engage with customers and global teams to guide technical direction and roadmaps.
