Job summary

CS e-Storage (US) Inc. is seeking a Sr Plant Controller Modelling Engineer to lead high‑fidelity EMS and plant controller modeling for energy storage systems.

You will model energy flows from cell to site, enabling digital twins and real‑time monitoring to optimize performance and reliability. Responsibilities include cross‑functional collaboration, benchmarking across tools, and vendor engagements to align models with project requirements across NA and EU markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems; Master’s or Ph.D. preferred.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in power system simulation and dynamic modeling.
• Experience with power flow, transient stability, short circuit and dynamic modeling studies.
• Strong understanding of grid reliability, IBRs, and renewable integration.
• Familiarity with EMT/RMS simulation tools and HIL/CHIL testing is a plus.
• Proficiency in Python for automation; knowledge of C/Fortran and MATLAB is advantageous.
• Experience validating models against field data and interoperability with OEMs.

Responsibilities

• Build and validate high-fidelity EMS models in PSCAD, PSS E, PSLF, and TSAT.
• Benchmark models across simulation environments to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Collaborate with external consultants to integrate OEM dynamic models for BESS and HV projects.
• Ensure compliance with IEEE 2800, IBR standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Translate ISO/RTO requirements into actionable modeling tasks for North America and EU.
• Develop a simulated environment for energy storage systems including inverters and substations.
• Monitor regulatory updates from FERC and NERC for grid simulation relevance.
• Support digital twin deployments to predict real-time and future EMS performance.
• Analyze simulation data to derive optimization recommendations for reliability.
• Perform model validation with field data and automate test routines.
• Lead multiple modeling workstreams and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Develop scripting tools (Python) for batch runs and results processing.
