Regional Emergency Services within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is seeking an Advisor, Emergency Management to lead the Emergency Management Program and RECC operations in Fort McMurray. The role emphasizes training, HRVA, and the drone program, with a focus on readiness and policy compliance.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in emergency management, strong leadership, and a track record of coordinating complex operations across multiple teams and external partners.

Formación

• Five years of related emergency services/management experience.
• Experience leading or supervising staff and/or volunteers.
• Public-sector experience with unionized/non-unionized employees is a plus.
• Criminal Record Check required.
• Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and manage resources for the Emergency Management Program and the RECC.
• Oversee RECC operations, REMP maintenance, training/exercise design and delivery.
• Develop and implement strategies for readiness, HRVA, and situational monitoring.
• Lead drone program and Mobile Command Post initiatives.
• Provide advice, recommendations, and decision support to leadership.
