Job summary

EnerSys Energy Systems in Burnaby, BC seeks a Principal Software Engineering I to design and deliver supervisor software for power conversion systems. You will work on Linux-based platforms using C#/.NET, with Yocto, across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

You will help secure systems, develop with AI-enhanced workflows, document architecture, and support verification, validation and ongoing improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with Linux-based industrial/commercial platforms.
• Experience using AI platforms for agentic software development.
• Experience with AWS and Azure.
• Experience with cybersecurity including IEC 62443 and secure environments.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong OO programming with C# and embedded microcontrollers.
• Excellent English communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and secure system controller software from concept to production.
• Monitor and control power conversion products and provide gateway connectivity.
• Collaborate with end users, PMs and testers to clarify feature behavior.
• Prepare technical docs and contribute to architectural components.
• Implement unit tests and assist test automation.
• Participate in estimation and strategic goals of the department.
