Job summary

EnerSys is seeking a Principal Software Engineering I for Burnaby, BC, to design, develop, and support supervisory, monitoring, and control software for power conversion management systems. You will work with a cross-functional engineering team to deliver reliable, scalable software from concept to production.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience with Linux-based industrial platforms.
• Experience with AI platforms for agentic software development.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with power electronics and embedded controllers.

Responsibilities

• Secure system controller application and Linux OS using industry best practices.
• Develop software for system controllers and other connected devices.
• Contribute to architectural components and their improvement.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
• Participate in verification and validation testing.
• Develop unit tests and test automation.
• Collaborate with end users, product managers, and testers to clarify features.
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects.
• Estimate effort and complexity for new features.
• Support department strategic goals and direction.
