Role Description
The Senior Power System Studies Engineer is a full-time role based in North Vancouver, BC, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some work from home. This role is responsible for leading and performing detailed power system studies, including stability, short-circuit, and interconnection analyses for inverter-based resources, energy storage, and complex data center loads. The engineer will develop and validate models in EMT and real-time simulation environments, collaborate on plant control system design, and support Hardware-in-the-Loop testing to verify performance under realistic grid conditions. Day-to-day activities include preparing technical reports, presenting findings to clients, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to project planning and risk assessment. The role also involves mentoring junior engineers, supporting business development with technical input, and staying current with emerging grid codes and standards.
