Job summary

Babcock Canada in Halifax, NS seeks a Senior Test Specialist, Electrical to lead testing and maintenance of Victoria Class Submarine systems. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, diagnose faults, and drive technical solutions in a demanding shipyard environment.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years of related experience, engineering credentials, and eligibility for professional designation, with a focus on safety and security clearances.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in electrical/mechanical engineering technology or equivalent experience.
• Eligible for a professional designation (AScT, CET, EIT, or P.Eng.) in BC and/or NS.
• 8+ years of related technical experience.
• Experience in marine, naval, submarine, or offshore operations is an asset.
• Hands-on experience with electrical systems is an asset.
• Ability to work safely in industrial environments and obtain security clearances.

Responsibilities

• Carry out testing, acceptance, and maintenance of Victoria Class Submarine (VCS) systems and equipment.
• Act as Test Director, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams in complex submarine testing activities.
• Diagnose faults, troubleshoot issues, and perform corrective maintenance.
• Provide technical leadership and oversight to Test Specialists.
• Draft, review, and maintain test documentation and work instructions.
