Babcock Canada Inc. in Victoria, BC is seeking a Principal Test Specialist, Electrical (Permanent). You will oversee testing and maintenance of Victoria Class Submarine systems, lead a Test Director, and guide a team of specialists in a shipyard environment.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of technical experience, professional registration (P.Eng/AScT/CET) or eligibility, and strong communication and leadership skills. Canadian security clearance eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Degree, diploma or certificate in engineering technology or equivalent experience.
• Registration as P.Eng, AScT, or CET with a provincial association, or eligibility to complete within 12 months.
• 10+ years of related technical experience.
• Experience operating, testing/commissioning electrical systems.
• Marine/offshore/naval vessel or submarine operational experience is an asset.
• Ability to obtain Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance.

Responsabilités

• Oversee testing, acceptance and maintenance of Victoria Class Submarine systems.
• Lead a Test Director and multi-disciplinary teams during testing.
• Oversee equipment troubleshooting, fault diagnosis and corrective maintenance.
• Mentor and guide Senior Test Specialists and Test Specialists.
• Communicate complex technical issues, solutions and risks to stakeholders.
• Lead small to medium sized teams to deliver projects.
• Draft and review test documentation and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Identify risks and opportunities during testing and maintenance.
