Job summary

Ontario Power Generation is seeking a dynamic Senior Plant Engineer - Electrical Engineering to join our team at Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. Reporting to the Electrical Production Technical Supervisor, you will provide technical advice and guidance on hydro station maintenance, design and commissioning.

You will lead assessments, prepare drawings and specifications, manage RFPs, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to ensure safe, reliable generation and asset life management.

Qualifications

• 4-year university degree in Electrical Engineering with P.Eng. in Ontario an asset.
• Minimum 8 years' experience as Electrical Engineer in hydro-electric generation.
• Experience with HV and MV equipment, exciters, electrical protections.
• Proven ability to lead analyses, tests, inspections and design for generating stations.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to maintenance crews and management.
• Manage electrical engineering assessments, studies, inspections and evaluations for hydro generators and related systems.
• Prepare drawings, specs and construction estimates.
• End-to-end management of RFP processes.
• Provide technical support for station maintenance, performance, design and commissioning.
• Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, consultants, contractors and government agencies.
• Respond to emergencies and conduct field investigations, reporting and safety reviews.
• Develop plans and standards for inspection, maintenance and asset life management.
