Job summary

Torus Talent represents a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Vancouver, BC. The role targets a P.Eng. with 6+ years’ electrical experience in heavy industrial settings, including oil & gas, substations, and power distribution.

You’ll lead electrical design activities, mentor junior staff, and help deliver projects across Canada and the United States in a flexible hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada.
• Approximately 6+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• Experience with heavy industrial projects.
• Experience with low- and/or medium-voltage power distribution systems.
• Substation experience is a strong asset.
• Experience in oil & gas, mining, energy or utilities projects is beneficial.
• Field or site experience is an asset.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical engineering support across heavy industrial projects from concept through detailed design and execution.
• Develop and review electrical designs, calculations, specs, drawings, and other deliverables.
• Support low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems.
• Coordinate electrical requirements with other disciplines, clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Review technical documentation to meet codes, standards, and client needs.
• Support project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and change management.
• Participate in field activities and site visits as required.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
• Take increasing ownership of projects and client relationships over time.
• Support projects across Canada and the United States.
