Job summary

Bantrel is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer SME to provide technical leadership on electrical engineering solutions across EPC/ EPCM projects in Canada. The role supports project execution, mentoring teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards for medium to large-scale energy, mining, and infrastructure initiatives.

The position offers a full-time contract role (approximately 1 year) with potential for hybrid/remote work and site assignments as needed.

Qualifications

20+ years electrical engineering experience in Oil & Gas, Refinery, LNG, Petrochemical or Mining, Metals and Minerals projects in EPC environment.
Engineering degree or professional license in electrical engineering.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
Mentoring younger engineers as subject matter expert and outgoing to help people.
Knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards.
Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
Previous supervisory and/or lead experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate or prepare equipment or work specifications, bid evaluations, and vendor document reviews.
Coordinate engineering efforts across disciplines with client, suppliers and contractors.
Act as lead technical role over other engineers or subgroups for tasks.
Mentor junior electrical engineers and assist in on-the-job training.
Prepare conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals and cost estimates.
