Cenovus invites applications for a Senior Performance Analyst to provide financial leadership, governance, and reporting across Downstream operations in Calgary. You will partner with refinery finance teams, corporate planning, and executive leadership to deliver insights and drive performance improvements.

The role emphasizes building robust financial models, variance analyses, and governance processes, while supporting finance transformation and digital initiatives across Cenovus Finance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in financial planning, performance management, and business partnering.
• Degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, or related discipline; CPA and/or MBA designation would be considered an asset.
• Strong financial, analytical acumen, with advanced financial modeling, data analytics, and Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and gross margin reporting support for the Refining business.
• Partner with refinery, commercial, and corporate leaders to deliver financial insights and support business decision-making.
• Produce and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance reports.
• Develop financial models and variance analyses to identify trends, risks, and performance drivers.
• Ensure effective financial controls, reporting processes, account reconciliations, and governance practices.
• Prepare performance commentary and supporting analysis for MD&A, Investor Relations, Board materials, and other external reporting requirements.
• Lead and process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, standardization, and reporting quality.
• Support and drive finance transformation, modernization, and digital initiatives across Downstream and Cenovus Finance.
