Job summary

STEMCELL Technologies, a Vancouver-based biotechnology company, seeks a Senior Manager, Software and Data Engineering to lead the Information Systems team and drive the enterprise data architecture, software platforms, and SAP solutions.

You will build and guide a high-performing team, shape engineering practices, and oversee delivery of integrated software, data pipelines, website and e-commerce assets to enable critical business processes and scalable operations globally.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of combined education and/or experience in Software and Data Engineering.
• Experience leading software development, application integration, and data engineering within a complex enterprise environment.
• Practical knowledge and experience in leading teams, processes, and projects related to software development or software engineering.
• Advanced-level knowledge and skills across a range of areas within software and data engineering.
• Applicable Technologies include AWS Development, Mulesoft, Automation Anywhere, Snowflake, Tableau, Magento, and SAP.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the successful delivery of software and data solutions across the project portfolio, translating requirements provided by business analysts and other stakeholders into integrated, production-ready applications, data products, and digital capabilities that achieve the intended business outcomes.
• Owns the quality, reliability, security, and lifecycle management of the company’s custom-developed solutions, including internal applications, system integrations, data platforms and pipelines, the corporate website, and e-commerce applications.
• Establishes and governs engineering practices and technical standards that enable consistent solution design, software development, data engineering, testing, deployment, documentation, monitoring, support, and continuous improvement.
• Leads portfolio planning and delivery management for the function, balancing new development, enhancements, operational support, technical debt, risk reduction, platform modernization, and available team capacity.
• Builds and leads a high-performing software and data engineering team, establishing clear accountabilities, developing technical and leadership capability, managing performance, and ensuring the organization has the skills and capacity required to meet current and future needs.
