STEMCELL Technologies Inc. is a Vancouver-based biotechnology company seeking a Senior Manager, Software and Data Engineering to lead the enterprise data architecture and platforms.

You will oversee the development, integration, operation, and continuous improvement of custom software applications, SAP solutions, data platforms, and digital solutions across the enterprise. This role partners with business stakeholders and cross-functional technology teams to ensure integrated, scalable systems

Qualifications

• 10+ years of combined education and/or experience in Software and Data Engineering.
• Experience leading software development, application integration, and data engineering within a complex enterprise environment.
• Proven ability to deliver and operate business-critical technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the successful delivery of software and data solutions across the project portfolio, translating requirements into integrated, production-ready applications and data products.
• Owns the quality, reliability, security, and lifecycle management of the company’s custom-developed solutions, including internal apps, system integrations, data platforms and pipelines, the website and e-commerce apps.
• Establishes and governs engineering practices and technical standards for design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, monitoring, and support.
• Leads portfolio planning and delivery management for the function, balancing new development, enhancements, operational support, technical debt, risk reduction, and capacity.
• Builds and leads a high-performing software and data engineering team, establishing clear accountabilities and developing leadership capability.

Job Description Summary

At STEMCELL Technologies, we’re working towards having a direct and positive impact on advancing scientific research in fields such as cancer, immunology, and tissue engineering. We are looking for a Senior Manager, Software and Data Engineering to join our Information Systems team to lead the overall management of enterprise data architecture, engineering and platforms.

As the Senior Manager, Software and Data Engineering, you will lead our technical team and the development, integration, operation, and continuous improvement of the company’s custom software applications, SAP solutions and integrations, data solutions, website, and e-commerce platforms. You will provide leadership and oversight for SAP development, enhancements, integrations, and technical support, ensuring SAP solutions effectively enable and evolve critical business processes. You will work closely with business stakeholders and cross-functional technology teams to ensure that custom applications, SAP, data platforms, and digital solutions are effectively integrated across the enterprise.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensures the successful delivery of software and data solutions across the project portfolio, translating requirements provided by business analysts and other stakeholders into integrated, production-ready applications, data products, and digital capabilities that achieve the intended business outcomes.
• Owns the quality, reliability, security, and lifecycle management of the company’s custom-developed solutions, including internal applications, system integrations, data platforms and pipelines, the corporate website, and e-commerce applications.
• Establishes and governs engineering practices and technical standards that enable consistent solution design, software development, data engineering, testing, deployment, documentation, monitoring, support, and continuous improvement.
• Leads portfolio planning and delivery management for the function, balancing new development, enhancements, operational support, technical debt, risk reduction, platform modernization, and available team capacity.
• Builds and leads a high-performing software and data engineering team, establishing clear accountabilities, developing technical and leadership capability, managing performance, and ensuring the organization has the skills and capacity required to meet current and future needs.

Knowledge and Qualifications

• 10+ years of combined education and/or experience in Software and Data Engineering
• Experience leading software development, application integration, and data engineering within a complex enterprise environment, including demonstrated accountability for delivering and operating business-critical technology solutions.
• Practical knowledge and experience in leading teams, processes, and projects related to software development or software engineering
• Advanced-level knowledge and skills across a range of areas within software and data engineering
• Applicable Technologies include AWS Development, Mulesoft, Automation Anywhere, Snowflake, Tableau, Magento, and SAP.

The annual salary for this job ranges from:

$138,900.00 - $208,300.00

STEMCELL determines an individual’s pay within the range based on multiple factors including experience, education, job-related skills, and equity within the team or organization. For jobs that are eligible for sales incentives, the range noted above is inclusive of target incentives; actual incentives are based on individual performance results in accordance with company policy. In addition to base salary, STEMCELL offers a comprehensive total rewards package including health benefits, retirement savings, and more.
