Job summary

BMO Financial Group is seeking a Senior Director to drive Asset-Based Lending (ABL) growth through strategic business development and strong client relationship management in the Montreal region. This role focuses on origination, new transaction execution, and advisory support across a range of financing scenarios including refinancings, M&A, and restructurings.

Qualifications

• Typically 10+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or equivalent combination.
• Demonstrated history of successful business development, including ability to network in external markets.
• Experience negotiating with clients and legal counsel; drafting responses to complex RFPs.

Responsibilities

• Leads and executes business development and marketing plans to achieve or exceed goals.
• Provides strategic input for existing and prospective customers as a trusted advisor.
• Advises on origination strategy based on market understanding and client needs.
• Conducts independent analysis to resolve strategic issues and develops business cases with underwriting teams.
• Guides portfolio and underwriting teams on credit structuring, risk assessment and collaboration.
• Develops roadmap for strategic execution and resource planning.
• Networks with industry contacts to gain market insights and relationships with ABL associations and partners.
• Coordinates data governance, transaction databases and sales materials to improve efficiency.
• Leads change management programs and ensures quality of execution across initiatives.
