Job summary

DASCH is seeking a Senior Direct Support Professional to join as a full-time leader on shift, coordinating daily operations and ensuring high-quality care for people with intellectual disabilities in Winnipeg.

You will lead staff, organize schedules, provide direct support, and advocate for participants while promoting independence and community involvement. A commitment to dignity and respectful care is essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 completion or CLB Level 6
• Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License
• Smart device with internet access
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities
• Leadership or guiding others in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Lead staff on shift and coordinate daily operations
• Provide direct support including personal care, shopping, meals, and socialization
• Maintain clean, safe, and comfortable environments
• Support medical needs, appointments, medications, and follow-ups
• Organize the day, monitor routines, and ensure timely documentation
• Review staff documentation, time tracking, and incident reports for accuracy
• Coach staff and provide real-time guidance
• Encourage DASCH participants to engage in community activities
• Advocate for the best interests of people DASCH supports
• Promote independence, dignity, and respect among staff and participants
• Serve as a role model for teamwork and quality care
• Ensure bi-weekly rotating schedules with daytime/evening/weekend shifts
