Senior Dewatering Project Lead

Job summary

WJ Groundwater is seeking a Senior Project Manager for its Canada operations to lead dewatering system installations, liaising between design and site teams, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Based in Toronto with frequent site visits, the role requires 5+ years in dewatering or groundwater projects, strong budgeting and scheduling skills, and the ability to manage multiple high-value projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Engineering (Civil/Geotechnical/Environmental) or related field.
• 5+ years in project management/construction, dewatering or groundwater infra.
• Experience budgeting, scheduling and resource allocation.
• Supervision of dewatering operations across ground/groundwater conditions.
• Understanding water management, hydrogeology or civil engineering.
• Contract administration, client relations and site supervision experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office 365 and Autodesk Suite.
• Strong communication, leadership and teamwork abilities.
• Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Define project program to meet targets and benchmarks.
• Supervise site activities and coordinate with clients, staff, subcontractors, suppliers.
• Control costs via BOQ analysis and planned expenditures.
• Monitor dewatering performance and suggest optimizations.
• Prepare method statements with CAD drawings and procedures.
• Prepare, issue and negotiate monthly payment applications and AR support.
• Develop dewatering methodologies to ensure high-quality delivery.
• Manage change orders and prepare status reports for clients.
• Maintain documentation of contractual activities and data.
• Undertake business development including tenders and client discussions.
• Ensure health and safety; perform risk assessments and site audits.
