Job summary

WJ Groundwater Canada is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead dewatering operations from the Toronto head office, liaising between design and installation teams and ensuring timely, on-budget project delivery. The role requires coordinating with clients, field staff and subcontractors while maintaining high-quality reporting and documentation.

Based in Toronto with site visits to projects, you will oversee budgeting, scheduling, safety compliance, and contract administration.

Qualifications

  • A motivated and hardworking individual with strong written and verbal communication is essential.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field is required.
  • Over 5 years of project management/construction experience in dewatering, groundwater management, or related infra.
  • Experience supervising dewatering operations across varied ground/groundwater conditions.
  • Familiarity with contracts, client relations, and construction site supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Define project program to meet targets for quality, financials, and delivery.
  • Supervise site activities and coordinate with clients, staff, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Control costs via BOQ analysis and planning of expenditures/workforce.
  • Monitor dewatering performance and optimize system with site conditions.
  • Prepare method statements with CAD drawings and procedures.
  • Issue monthly payment applications and assist in AR processes.
  • Develop dewatering system methodologies to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Prepare engineering and financial status reports for clients.
  • Maintain documentation of contractual activities and data presentation.
  • Undertake business development, site visits, client discussions, tenders and quotes.
