WJ Groundwater Canada, based in Toronto, seeks a Water Treatment Project Engineer to lead design and delivery of dewatering and water treatment systems for construction projects across Canada. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, liaise with clients, and ensure projects meet schedule and budget.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 3+ years in water treatment or construction project management, with AutoCAD and MS Office proficiency.
WJ Groundwater is the leading construction dewatering and groundwater specialist in the UK with operations in Canada, the Middle East, Poland & the Philippines. We have specialized plant and equipment that allows us to install custom dewatering systems in various environments including from within tunnels and shafts and from the surface.
The primary function of this position is to ensure water treatment system performance meets client expectations while delivering projects on time and within budget. This role will lead the design of water treatment systems and act as the main point of contact for clients across various construction projects.

Reports to Water Treatment Division Manager

Working Conditions
This role is primarily based at our head office in Toronto but requires site visits for client meetings, site inspections, inductions, and project briefings, with occasional full-day work on client worksites. The role involves installing water treatment systems in various environments, including both outdoor and indoor settings, such as tunnels, adits, and shafts, which are classified as low to medium risk confined spaces. Comfort with working in all weather conditions, on heavy industrial construction sites, and within confined spaces is essential.
The salary range for this position is $75,000–$95,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Standard working hours are from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Occasional flexibility in working hours may be required.
