MNP is seeking a Senior Developer to join the Innovation & Insights team in Calgary. The role focuses on rapid software experiments, MVP delivery, and hands-on architecture across diverse projects that redefine how clients are served.

You will partner with leaders and users to shape concepts and transition them into production-ready solutions. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in software development, strong UX/UI capability, and a track record of delivering MVPs in Agile environments.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience leading the technical design and delivery of software solutions from discovery to deployment.
• Strong knowledge of modern application architecture and integration patterns.
• Experience with Agile and iterative product development.
• Ability to quickly learn and select technologies as needed.
• Strong UX and UI capabilities, including user workflows and wireframes.
• Breadth delivering software solutions across deployment contexts with hands-on involvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design and hands-on development of rapid software experiments, prototypes and MVPs from concept through user validation.
• Partner with business leaders to translate opportunities into clear problem statements and MVP concepts.
• Design end-to-end solutions validating key business, user and technical assumptions.
• Make pragmatic architecture and technology decisions balancing speed, security and maintainability.
• Design intuitive, accessible user experiences using wireframes and UI concepts.
• Develop and document solution architecture and technical artifacts.
• Apply Agile and rapid development practices with MVP backlogs and frequent demos.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate exploration, testing and documentation.
• Work within Azure, IT and DevOps guardrails and communicate risks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design and hands‑on development of rapid software experiments, prototypes and MVPs, from initial concept through user validation and transition recommendations
• Partner directly with business leaders, subject-matter experts and users to translate broad or ambiguous opportunities into clear problem statements, testable hypotheses, solution concepts and appropriately scoped MVPs
• Design thin, end-to-end solutions that validate key business, user and technical assumptions early
• Make pragmatic architecture and technology decisions that balance speed, security, maintainability, user value and potential transition to production development
• Design intuitive, accessible and visually coherent user experiences; use wireframes, interface concepts and working UI alternatives to clarify requirements and iteratively refine workflows and functionality
• Develop proportionate solution architecture and technical documentation
• Apply Agile and rapid application development practices, maintaining a focused MVP backlog and facilitating frequent demonstrations and feedback sessions to prioritize and refine functionality
• Leverage approved AI-assisted development tools to accelerate solution exploration, development, testing, documentation, troubleshooting and refactoring
• Work within established Azure, IT and DevOps guardrails; identify and communicate architectural trade-offs and technical, security, privacy, data, licensing and operational risks
• Prepare successful MVPs for transition through source code, infrastructure and pipeline definitions, architecture and test documentation, and dependency and technical-debt assessments

Skills and Experience

• At least 5 years of professional software development experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and demonstrated senior-level capability
• Demonstrated success leading the technical design and delivery of software solutions from discovery and architecture through development, deployment and stakeholder adoption
• Strong knowledge of modern application architecture and integration patterns, with the ability to evaluate solution options, define system boundaries and make pragmatic architectural trade-offs appropriate to the needs of an MVP
• Experience with Agile and iterative product development
• Ability to quickly learn and select technologies appropriate to the problem is more important than expertise in a prescribed stack
• Experience with modern engineering practices and tools
• Strong UX and UI capabilities, including contributing to user workflows, wireframes or prototypes and refining solutions through representative-user feedback; familiarity with responsive design and accessibility is an asset
• Strong problem-solving, facilitation and communication skills
• Demonstrated breadth delivering substantial software solutions across different deployment contexts, combined with a willingness to remain deeply hands‑on
