Job summary

RUX Software, LLC, a fast-growing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ISV, seeks an engineering leader to own the design, development, testing, release, and support of complex BC and cross-platform mobile solutions. You will mentor developers, resolve difficult technical problems, and improve engineering practices.

This role emphasizes technical decision-making across BC/AL, React Native, APIs, and iOS/Android, with responsibility for release readiness and production support.

Overview

Leads the design, development, testing, release, and support of complex Business Central and cross-platform mobile solutions. Serves as a technical leader by making sound design decisions, mentoring developers, resolving difficult technical problems, and improving engineering quality and delivery practices.

What This Position Owns

• Own the technical delivery of complex enhancements and major workstreams from estimation and solution design through release.


• Make and document technical design decisions across Business Central, integrations, APIs, React Native, TypeScript, iOS, and Android.


• Mentor Associate Developers and Developers through design guidance, pairing, code review, and constructive feedback.


• Conduct code and solution reviews to ensure RUX development, security, testing, performance, and maintainability standards are followed.


• Act as an escalation point for complex defects, production incidents, integration issues, and platform-specific problems.


• Identify technical debt, explain its business and delivery impact, and propose practical remediation plans.


• Partner with the Manager, Product Engineering and Product Owner on estimates, dependencies, technical risks, and delivery options.


• Maintain working knowledge of Business Central, AppSource deployment, relevant Microsoft technologies, and assigned product domains.


• Provide functional and technical guidance for Business Central sales, purchasing, project, service, and related RUX workflows.


• Own mobile architecture and release readiness, including build, signing, testing, store submission, rollout, and update processes for Apple App Store and Google Play distribution.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery and translate product requirements into supportable solution designs and implementation plans.


• Develop and review complex AL, React Native, TypeScript, integration, and API changes as required by assigned work.


• Break large technical efforts into clear deliverables, identify dependencies, and communicate risks before sprint commitment.


• Guide developers in debugging, testing, performance analysis, secure coding, and maintainable implementation practices.


• Ensure appropriate automated tests, technical documentation, deployment notes, and rollback considerations are completed.


• Coordinate with team members to clarify expected behavior, verify acceptance criteria, and resolve issues efficiently.


• Lead technical response for high-impact defects and production incidents, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions.


• Review architecture and code for consistency, reuse, scalability, platform compatibility, and long-term supportability.


• Improve development standards, reusable components, CI/CD practices, release processes, and team documentation.


• Guide mobile architecture, native integrations, platform-specific behavior, performance, security, and store-release practices across iOS and Android.


• Assist with technical planning, estimation, hiring input, onboarding, and skills development for the engineering team.


• Communicate technical tradeoffs and recommendations clearly to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience independently delivering complex production software and leading significant features or technical workstreams through design, development, testing, release, and support.


• Advanced proficiency in at least one primary RUX technology area, such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and AL or React Native and TypeScript, with the ability to work effectively across integrations, APIs, source control, automated testing, and deployment processes.


• Strong technical judgment, debugging, solution-design, code-review, mentoring, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.


• Experience with SaaS or ERP products, AppSource, Apple App Store or Google Play releases, CI/CD, security, performance, and RUX customer industries is preferred based on the assigned product area.
