Job summary

Morgan Stanley is seeking a Senior Data Engineering Specialist in TEDRA to design and evolve large-scale data platforms processing tens of billions of trade events daily and to power latency monitoring and reporting across Institutional Securities Technology. This Lead Data & Analytics Engineering role is based in Montreal with a hybrid work model.

You will build scalable data pipelines, craft data models, optimize SQL and distributed systems, and guide migrations and modernization efforts while

Qualifications

6+ years of experience in designing, building, and supporting large-scale data engineering platforms in distributed environments.
Proficiency in Python, Java, C++, Perl or similar languages with focus on engineering quality and automation.
Strong SQL, data modeling, and performance tuning skills.
Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Spark, and Kafka is required.

Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable data engineering solutions supporting trade reporting, monitoring, and analytics platforms.
Build and maintain high-performance data pipelines processing terabytes of data and billions of records daily.
Develop software using Python, Java, C++, Perl to automate data processing and platform management.
Lead platform migrations, database upgrades, and modernization projects.
Promote engineering best practices across multiple teams and stakeholders.
Support real-time/event-driven architectures using Kafka.
