Job summary

Morgan Stanley is seeking a Java Tech Lead in Montreal to design and deliver scalable, cloud-ready transaction processing platforms for electronic trading and custody operations. You will own technical architecture, mentor engineers, and drive best practices across CI/CD, testing, and secure coding standards.

The role focuses on leading design across reconciliation and data workflows, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring robust production releases in a hybrid work environment

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building enterprise level systems using Java/Spring.
• Strong design skills for scalable systems.
• Experience with multi-threaded applications (Concurrency).
• Experience with Agile development and CI/CD practices.
• Knowledge of REST services and distributed architectures.
• Experience with databases and integration patterns.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of Java/Spring-based services for the custody platform, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
• Own the technical architecture and drive design decisions for reconciliation, exception management, and data workflows.
• Mentor and coach a team of engineers through code reviews and pair programming.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and engineering tasks.
• Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and production support for reliable releases.
