Job summary

Benevity is seeking a Senior Staff Data Platform Engineer to lead and hands-on build a scalable data platform. You’ll bridge architectural vision with production-grade delivery, guiding data ingestion, lakehouse layering, governance and data products for reporting across domain teams.

Ideal candidates bring deep data engineering expertise across streaming and batch, with leadership experience and a focus on governance, quality, and scalable architectures in a cloud-native environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of scalable development experience with lead and software design responsibilities.
• 2+ years in a technical leadership role on scalable platforms and modernization initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on technical leadership across the full data path.
• Design and build platform capabilities for domain teams to ingest and report data.
• Lead medallion architecture on an AWS lakehouse with appropriate governance.
• Ensure pipelines and data products are discoverable and governed via metadata platforms.
