Job summary

Benevity is seeking a Senior Staff Data Platform Engineer to lead design and implementation of a scalable data platform. You will work hands-on with streaming and batch pipelines, lakehouse architecture, and data governance to enable domain teams to self-serve reliable data for reporting.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of scalable development experience with data platforms and pipelines.
• 2+ years in a technical leadership role on platform projects.
• Excellent communication balancing product and technical needs.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on technical leadership across the full data path.
• Design and build platform capabilities for domain teams to self-serve data from source to reporting.
• Work across streaming and batch pipelines, lakehouse, catalog, and semantic layer.
• Lead medallion architecture on an AWS lakehouse with open formats and governance.
• Ensure pipelines and data products are registered, documented and discoverable.
