Canada Life in Toronto, ON, and London, ON, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Enterprise Data Enablement Team. You will engineer, create, and support data services and products that increase data velocity and quality for insights and analytics across the organization.

Ideal candidates hold a Mathematics, Computer Science and/or Data Analytics degree with 5+ years in data engineering, and are proficient in SQL, Python, Azure, Databricks, Synapse, and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science and/or Data Analytics.
• 5+ years of applied data engineering experience.
• Expertise with SQL, Python, Azure, Databricks, Synapse, Power BI.
• Strong data modeling knowledge and cloud design skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Agile mindset and willingness to share learnings across the company.
• Reliability Status Security Clearance required for employment.

Responsibilities

• Build and support data products for Canadian use, publishing self-service datasets.
• Design and develop reusable data models with Data Governance & IA teams.
• Automate data engineering tasks using modern tools and techniques.
• Mentor other engineers and collaborate with core data teams.
• Understand data needs with business teams and propose solutions.
