Job summary

Altis is seeking a Senior Data Architect / Data Modeller to shape scalable, AI-ready data solutions for enterprise analytics and Generative AI initiatives.

You will design architectures and models, collaborating with business leaders to enable data-driven decisions using Azure data services and governance frameworks.

Hybrid Toronto role near Union Station (3 days onsite per week).

Qualifications

• Significant experience in enterprise data architecture and cloud-based solutions.
• Experience designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models for analytics/AI workloads.
• Deep knowledge of Azure data services and AI tools.
• Understanding of lakehouse architecture, data governance, security, privacy and lifecycle management.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Define scalable patterns for data integration, storage, transformation, sharing, and consumption.
• Architect AI-ready data solutions for model training, inference, RAG, feature engineering, and ML pipelines.

• Partner with governance to embed data quality, ownership, metadata, lineage, security, privacy, and lifecycle requirements.
• Assess existing platforms and contribute to future-state cloud data architecture.

• You’ll collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical, scalable solutions.

Skills and Qualifications

• Significant experience in enterprise data architecture, data modelling, data engineering, and cloud-based solutions.
• Proven expertise designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise analytics, AI/ML, and Generative AI workloads.
• Deep knowledge of Azure data services, Azure Machine Learning, Microsoft Foundry/Azure AI Foundry, and scalable cloud architecture patterns.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML data requirements, including RAG, model training, inference, feature engineering, and data pipelines.
• Expertise in data integration, APIs, metadata, master/reference data, lineage, data quality, and modern data platforms.
• Knowledge of lakehouse architecture, domain-oriented design, data products, governance, security, privacy, and information lifecycle management.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, documentation, and problem-solving skills, with a relevant degree or equivalent experience.
