Job summary

RBC is seeking a Principal Engineer, Cyber Technology Operations SRE to lead security-focused site reliability engineering initiatives in a fast-paced environment. You will drive automation, collaborate across security domains, and ensure scalable, auditable operations with risk-aware controls.

The role emphasizes hands-on cloud and AI-security expertise, robust experience in Kubernetes/Docker, and the ability to influence security architecture through governance and engineering practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of information security, software engineering, SRE, DevOps, and infrastructure experience.
• 5+ years focused on SRE or reliability-focused work.
• 3-5 years of experience managing technology compliance and risk.
• Experience with Endpoint Security, Network Security, Cloud Security technologies.
• Hands-on experience with public/private cloud, IAM, networking, compute, storage.
• Containerization & Orchestration with Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, multi-cluster mgmt.
• CI/CD design and maintenance experience.
• Ability to build scalable, fault-tolerant processes.
• Deadline-driven and able to deliver high-quality results.

Responsibilities

• Develop operational SRE strategy and maintain automation roadmap.
• Develop automation solutions and drive adoption.
• Collaborate with owners and SMEs to uplift procedures for automated solutions.
• Contribute to new technology deployments focusing on automation.
• Partner on control testing and audits to demonstrate effectiveness.
• Work with risk leads to design secure operational solutions.
• Develop KPIs for operational oversight and governance.
• Operate in an Agile environment using Jira to manage tasks.
