Job summary

Corpay in Toronto, Canada seeks a Senior Crypto Compliance Analyst to lead end-to-end AML/KYC due diligence for onboarding, periodic reviews, and trigger event reviews of FIs, MSBs, EMIs, FinTechs and VASPs. You will analyze business models, regulatory status, and risk frameworks while coordinating with Compliance and other teams.

The role involves assessing licensing across jurisdictions, conducting enhanced due diligence, and providing risk-based recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 4+ years of AML/KYC or financial crime compliance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of AML/CTF, sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption (ABC) regulations.
  • Understanding of FI business models including PSPs, MSBs, EMIs and FinTechs.
  • Strong knowledge of digital asset ecosystems and VASPs.
  • Ability to interpret AML policies and governance documentation.
  • Experience evaluating regulatory licensing across jurisdictions.
  • Strong research using regulatory databases and blockchain intel.
  • Excellent report writing and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-risk cases with quality standards.
  • Strong communication with management, regulators and clients.
  • CAMS/CFCS certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing complex financial services and digital asset business models including exchanges, wallets, and gateways.
  • Evaluating blockchain ecosystems, transaction flows, and risk exposure.

  • Aligning clients with risk appetite and documenting mitigations.
  • Preparing risk assessments and recommendations for senior management.
  • Acting as SME for FI, MSBs, FinTechs and digital asset businesses.

What We Need

Corpay is currently looking to hire a Senior Crypto Compliance Analyst within our Cross Borders division. This position falls under our Payments line of business and is located in Toronto, Canada. In this role you will lead the end-to-end AML/KYC due diligence for onboarding, periodic reviews, and trigger event reviews of Financial Institutions (FIs), Money Services Businesses (MSBs), Electronic Money Institutions (EMIs), FinTechs , Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs), and other high-risk clients. Perform comprehensive Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) by assessing the client's business model, ownership structure, regulatory status, AML/CTF framework, and overall risk profile .

You will report into the Compliance Team Lead and work closely with other teams in the business.

Role Responsibilities
  • Analyzing complex financial services and digital asset business models, including but not limited to: Cryptocurrency exchanges (centralized and decentralized), Stablecoin issuers, Custodians and wallet providers, OTC trading desks, Payment processors, Crypto payment gateways, On-ramp /off-ramp providers, Blockchain infrastructure providers, Token issuers and DeFi-related businesses .
  • Understanding and evaluate digital asset ecosystems, transaction flows, source of funds, source of wealth, custody models, wallet architecture, blockchain analytics, and exposure to high-risk activities.
  • Reviewing and assess AML/CTF policies, sanctions compliance frameworks, independent audit reports, regulatory examination reports, risk assessments, and governance documentation to determine the effectiveness of a client's compliance program.
  • Assessing regulatory licensing and registrations across multiple jurisdictions and validate licenses through relevant regulatory authorities where applicable.
  • Evaluating beneficial ownership structures, complex corporate arrangements, trusts, foundations, SPVs, nominee arrangements, and layered ownership structures.
  • Conducting detailed adverse media analysis, sanctions screening, PEP reviews, regulatory enforcement reviews, and reputational risk assessments using internal and external intelligence sources.
  • Identify ingfinancial crime risks including money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, fraud, bribery and corruption, human trafficking, ransomware, darknet exposure, mule activity, and other emerging typologies.
  • Assessing transaction flows and payment structures to identify third-party payment risk, nested relationships, correspondent banking exposure, payable-through arrangements, virtual asset risks, and indirect exposure to prohibited activities.
  • Evaluating clients against internal risk appetite and regulatory expectations, identify mitigating controls, recommend appropriate conditions or restrictions, and document clear risk-based recommendations.
  • Preparing comprehensive risk assessments and recommendations for senior management, Compliance Committees, and executive approval for high-risk clients and complex business models.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert (SME) for Financial Institutions, MSBs, FinTechs , and Digital Asset businesses by providing guidance to Compliance, Sales, Legal, Treasury, Operations, and other internal stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills
  • University degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in AML/KYC, Financial Crime Compliance, or Financial Institution onboarding, involving FIs, MSBs, EMIs, FinTechs , or Digital Asset businesses.
  • Strong knowledge of AML/CTF, sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption (ABC), and financial crime regulations and industry best practices.
  • Advanced understanding of Financial Institution business models including correspondent banking, payment processors, MSBs, money transmitters, PSPs, EMIs, broker-dealers, trust companies, and payment facilitators.
  • Strong understanding of digital asset and blockchain ecosystems, including cryptocurrency exchanges, stablecoins, wallets, custody solutions, DeFi, tokenization, blockchain analytics, and Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs).
  • Ability to interpret and critically assess AML policies, enterprise risk assessments, independent AML audits, regulatory examination reports, and governance documentation to determine the maturity and effectiveness of a client's compliance framework.
  • Experience evaluating regulatory licensing requirements and supervisory frameworks across multiple jurisdictions .
  • Strong research skills with experience utilizing public records, regulatory databases, blockchain intelligence tools, adverse media platforms, and commercial screening solutions.
  • Excellent report writing and documentation skills, with the ability to prepare concise, well-supported risk assessments and executive summaries.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-risk cases while consistently meeting quality standards and service level agreements.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the confidence to engage senior management, regulators, and external clients on complex compliance matters.
  • CAMS, CFCS, or equivalent financial crime certification is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with blockchain analytics platforms (e.g., Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic) is considered a strong asset.

Pay Transparency

The expected salary range for this position is CAD $80,000 – $90,000, based on the candidate’s work location. This range reflects a good faith estimate of the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The final offer will bedeterminedbased on job-related factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable market conditions. Compensation may vary based on geographic location and will be confirmed during the hiring process.Additionalcompensation and benefits, including incentive programs, health coverage, retirement plans, paid time off, and other benefits (where applicable), may also be provided.
