Job summary

Canada’s Wonderland is seeking a dynamic events professional to join our team in Vaughan. You will deliver guest experiences, plan and execute creative services for events, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure success.

The role requires leadership, budgeting experience, and a hands-on approach to production and safety. Ideal candidates will have post-secondary training in technical theatre, strong knowledge of lighting, sound, and staging, and the ability to manage schedules,

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Post-secondary degree/diploma in technical theatre or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of design, carpentry, audio, lighting, video, and staging equipment.
• Advanced computer literacy required.
• Experience managing teams is required.
• Valid Ontario Driver’s license (G/G2) with clean record.
• CSA approved safety footwear required.
• Flexible shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute creative services for events and programs.
• Assist with budgeting, purchasing and reporting.
• Oversee design and technical teams to stay within budget.
• Hire, train, and supervise staff in assigned area.
• Ensure adherence to Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
• Set up, operate, and strike events within the park.
• Coordinate resources and facilities for departments.

• Work with Manager, Corporate and Internal partners planning and executing all creative services for events and programs
• Assist with planning, budgeting, purchasing and reporting as needed
• Oversee design team and technical team to ensure all plans are within budget and executed effectively
• Responsible to hire, train, and supervisor all staff in assigned area
• Ensure proper adherence to all current departmental procedures and to all current Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations
• Responsible for the set-up, execution/operation, and strike of events within the park
• Assist in obtaining and maintaining all departmental resources and facilities
• Delegate, implement and document all new projects as assigned

• Candidates that have a post-secondary degree or diploma in technical theatre with major studies in technical direction and/or significant experience in a related technical field
• Knowledge of design, carpentry, audio, lighting, video, and staging equipment required
• Advanced computer literacy is required
• Competency with tools and equipment
• Previous management experience is required
• Candidates with a valid Ontario Driver’s license (class G/G2) with a clean abstract
• Individuals that are able to provide their own CSA approved safety footwear
• Availability that includes working flexible shifts, including evenings, weekend and holidays
