Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Cost Consultant with 4-7 years of post-graduate experience in cost planning, estimating, and cost management. You will contribute to a diverse portfolio across sectors within a collaborative, growing team.

You will develop and manage cost estimates for public sector projects, prepare cost plans and benchmarking analyses, and support procurement decisions from concept design through project closeout. This role offers a hybrid work model in Canada.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of post-graduate experience in cost estimating, cost planning, or quantity surveying.
• Experience preparing estimates across all project phases, from conceptual design through construction.
• Membership or progress toward CIQS, RICS, AACE is an asset.
• Proficiency with CostX or similar estimating platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage cost estimates for public sector projects from concept through closeout.
• Prepare detailed cost plans, estimates, and benchmarking analyses to support budgets.
• Analyze tender submissions and procurement outcomes for competitiveness and value for money.
• Participate in value engineering and cost optimization while maintaining project objectives.
• Support cost risk management, forecasting, and budget control; contribute to client reports.

Job Description:

• Develop and managecost estimatesfor public sector projects from concept design through procurement, construction, and project closeout.
• Prepare detailed cost plans, estimates, and benchmarking analyses to support project decision-making and budget validation.
• Analyze tender submissions and procurement outcomes to ensure competitiveness, compliance, and value for money.
• Participate in value engineering and cost optimization exercises, identifying cost-effective solutions while maintaining project.
• Support project teams in managing cost risks, change management, forecasting, and budget control to ensure client objectives are achieved.
• Contribute to client presentations, cost reports, and stakeholder meetings.

Qualifications

• Degree inEngineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• 4-7 years of experiencein cost estimating, cost planning, or quantity surveying.
• Experience preparing estimates across all project phases, from conceptual design through construction.
• Membership or progress toward membership with relevant professional organizations such asCIQS, RICS, AACE, or equivalent is considered an asset.
• Proficiency with cost estimating software such asCostXor similar estimating platforms.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

The base salary for the full-time Cost Consultant role is CAD $80,000 - $100,000.Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
