Job description

Reporting to the Vice President Finance & IT, the Senior Controller will be responsible for the overall supervision of the company's accounting activities, financial performance and compliance. He or she will supervise the finance team (controller - financial projects and operations, payroll, accounts payable) and act as operational leader for financial improvement, internal control and performance monitoring initiatives. The person will also be involved in strategic projects, budget monitoring and audit processes.

More specifically, the Senior Controller will :

Financial and accounting supervision

• Supervise accounting closing processes, financial statements, monthly analyses and work-in-progress production (200 active projects);
• Supervise the Controller - Projects and Financial Operations and the payroll and accounts payable technicians;
• Ensure rigorous accounting entries, bank reconciliations and inventory follow-up;
• Ensure compliance with tax and accounting regulations (federal, provincial, CCQ).
• Coordinate fixed asset management, indirect taxation (GST/QST), and financial documentation.

Budget monitoring, performance and indicators

• Oversee monthly budget, actual variances and financial KPIs;
• Participate in the analysis of project margins, costs and profitability;
• Support management in the production of management reports, decision-making tools and dashboards.

Internal controls and optimization

• Implement and audit internal control procedures, including inventory management;
• Ensure continuous improvement of accounting, payroll and payment processes.
• Support the integration and optimization of ERP systems, Power BI and digital tools and processes;
• Support compliance with insurance and administrative agreement deadlines.

Operational leadership

• Play a pivotal role between financial operations and strategic priorities;
• Support performance improvement and digital transformation projects;
• Actively participate in the management of financial and human resources within the department;
• Perform all other related tasks.

Work location: Victoriaville, QC

• University degree in accounting or finance.

• Title of CPA required ;
• Minimum 10 years' relevant experience, including supervision of accounting teams;
• Experience in a manufacturing environment ;
• Good knowledge of CCQ rules and the particularities of the Quebec construction sector;
• Knowledge of ERP systems, Microsoft 365 suite (Advanced Excel), and Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Copilot).
