Job summary

BluMetric Environmental Inc. in Ottawa is seeking a full-time Controller to lead the accounting function, manage payroll, AR/AP, general ledger, and external audits. You will consolidate financial statements, implement process improvements, and develop the accounting team.

The role requires CPA designation, 6+ years of accounting leadership, and experience with Deltek VantagePoint. Strong internal control and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• CPA designation in good standing and 6+ years of accounting management experience.
• Experience with multi-entity reporting and intercompany accounting is a plus.
• Proven ability to lead a team and drive process improvements.
• Experience with ERP systems, particularly Deltek VantagePoint.
• Experience with external audits and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own the full cycle accounting close process including month-end, quarter-end and year-end close, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements.
• Lead and manage audit related activities.
• Manage the preparation and filing of monthly and annual sales tax remittances and coordinate corporate tax documentation with external tax consultants.
• Oversee payroll, regulatory reporting, and ensure internal controls and compliance.
