Job summary

Camcos Living in Aurora, ON is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls and compliance. Reporting to the CFO, you will oversee month-end close, GL, A/P, A/R, cash management and multi-entity reporting in a growing real estate environment.

The role requires CPA designation and at least seven years of progressive accounting experience, with strong analytical and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or a related discipline.
• Chartered Professional Accountant designation is required.
• Minimum of seven years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Experience in Controller, Assistant Controller or comparable senior accounting position.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting and cash-flow management.
• Experience in real estate development, residential construction or homebuilding is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Review financial results and provide variance analysis and commentary to the CFO.
• Ensure accounting records are complete, accurate and maintained in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
• Oversee general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management and corporate credit cards.
• Maintain financial reporting and supporting records across multiple companies, projects and entities.
• Coordinate year-end files and support external accountants.
• Support corporate tax filings, sales tax remittances and other regulatory reporting requirements.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or a related discipline

Chartered Professional Accountant designation is required
