The Opportunity:

As a Senior Contract Administrator at WSP Transportation Group, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the contract administration process for Ministry of Transportation (MTO) high complexity projects. This role requires you to coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of project outputs within budget and with high-quality results. Compliance monitoring is a key aspect of the position, as you will ensure that projects adhere to the contract design drawings, specifications, and standards. You will handle all contract documentation, including contract monitoring and submittals, and conduct periodic site reviews to assess project progress and compliance.

The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of relevant experience in contract administration on MTO projects, with demonstrated experience as a Contractor Administrator on four (4) or more similar MTO bridge or municipal bridge construction projects, with at least two (2) having a value of at least $20,000,000.00. Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills are essential, as well as an OACETT MTO Certification as Road Construction Contract Administrator (RCCA). This role reports to the Contract Administration Manager.

What you can expect to do here:

  • Contract Administration: Oversee and manage the contract administration process for MTO projects.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate cross-functional teams responsible for delivering project outputs on time, within budget, and with quality results.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Ensure compliance with contract drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Documentation: Handle contract documentation, including contract monitoring and submittals.
  • Site Reviews: Conduct periodic site reviews to assess project progress and compliance.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • 10 years or more of experience in contract administration on MTO projects, with demonstrated experience as a Contractor Administrator on four (4) or more similar MTO bridge or municipal bridge construction projects, with at least two (2) having a value of at least $20,000,000.00.
  • OACETT MTO Certification as Road Construction Contract Administrator (RCCA).
  • Experience with progress payments, change orders, leading site meetings, preparation of minutes, and providing guidance to field staff in relation to contracts.
  • Good knowledge of construction best practices, including equipment, materials, and quality assurance techniques.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues, associates, and clients.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills are a must.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and work in a fast-paced, high-change environment.
  • Good initiative and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with MS Word and Excel.
  • A valid Ontario driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
