Job summary

Value Creed is seeking an experienced Allegro ETRM developer to design and build technical solutions aligned with business needs in Calgary, Canada. You will work on the Allegro data model, develop interfaces, and deliver robust integrations with external systems.

The role requires deep hands-on expertise in Allegro ETRM, C#/.NET, SQL, SSRS, and Crystal Reports, along with strong communication and teamwork in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience developing technical solutions in Allegro ETRM.
• Strong knowledge of the Allegro technical architecture and development framework.
• Experience with system integrations and interfaces.
• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and code reviews.
• Knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop technical solutions within Allegro ETRM based on business and functional requirements.
• Translate functional requirements and business processes into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain Allegro Classes, Events, and custom technical components.
• Work extensively with the Allegro Data Model and Visual Model.
• Develop SQL queries, stored procedures, and database solutions to support Allegro functionality and integrations.
• Develop and maintain solutions using C# and .NET within Allegro's technical framework.
• Design and develop interfaces and integrations between Allegro and external systems.
• Analyze existing solutions and identify opportunities for process redesign, performance improvement, automation, and technical modernization.
• Prepare detailed technical specifications, solution designs, and technical documentation.
• Develop and maintain reports using SSRS, Crystal Reports, and Report Server where required.
• Perform unit testing, support integration/system testing, and participate in defect resolution.
• Conduct and participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to development standards and best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Work within established SDLC and Agile delivery methodologies.
• Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Functional Consultants, Project Managers, and client stakeholders.
• Participate in technical discussions with clients and clearly communicate solution approaches, design decisions, risks, and recommendations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and mid-level Allegro developers.
• Take ownership of assigned technical workstreams and ensure delivery within agreed timelines and quality standards.

• Strong understanding of the commodity trading lifecycle, including trade capture, positions, scheduling, settlements, invoicing, risk, and reporting.
• Good understanding of ETRM/CTRM processes across commodities such as power, natural gas, crude oil, refined products, or other energy commodities.
• Experience developing and supporting system integrations and interfaces.
• Experience with technical specification development and solution design.
• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and code reviews.
• Experience with SSRS, Crystal Reports, and Report Server.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Experience with production support, incident troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
