Job summary

Chandos is seeking a seasoned Superintendent to orchestrate all field and site‑specific construction activities with precision, accountability, and leadership. You will ensure projects are safe, clean, organized, and delivered with high morale and strong engagement in safety management.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of demonstrable experience as a construction Superintendent for a large general contractor on commercial ICI projects.
• 5+ years as head/lead/senior Superintendent on the project.
• Experience leading renovation or ground-up construction of a recreation centre from start to finish.
• Experience overseeing other Superintendents.
• Journeyman trade certification or equivalent field experience.
• Majority of projects in the $30-100M range.
• Proven ability to create/manage schedules and complex logistics for full project duration.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Steward safety and well‑being of all personnel, conduct inspections, and address risks.
• Lead and manage site activities, including production system, design, budget, schedule, performance, subtrades, and profitability.
• Provide direction, mentorship, and oversight to other Superintendents and field staff.
• Plan and schedule work, hold milestones, and allocate manpower and materials.
• Remove roadblocks, manage risk, and oversee project setup, execution, and close‑out.
• Ensure conformity with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Monitor project budgets and forecasts at phase‑code and cost‑type level.
• Oversee third‑party monitoring/testing per contract specs.
• Act as owner interface champion, maintaining client relationships.
• Identify training needs, support apprenticeship programs, and build teams.
• Uphold organization, work methods, scheduling discipline, cost control, lean construction.
