Job summary

Alstar Group of Companies Ltd. is seeking a senior Project Executive to lead on-site construction activities across Western Canada.

This role oversees planning, scheduling, quality control, risk management, and alignment with HSE standards on major industrial projects. You will manage large teams, budgets, and client relations, ensuring scope control and timely delivery while coordinating with Indigenous communities and client leadership.

Qualifications

• Trade certification or post-secondary in Construction Management or related field.
• 12+ years progressive leadership on major industrial/energy construction projects.
• Valid Safety Certifications (WHMIS 2015, CSO, Basic First Aid, H2S Alive, Fall Protection).
• Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, contracts, schedules, and financial reports.
• Experience managing teams of 30+ personnel, project budgets, risk mitigation, and client relations.
• Willingness to travel for extended periods and work on field sites in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive on-site oversight of construction planning, scheduling, execution, quality control, and risk management across all phase lifecycles.
• Monitor adherence to HSE, QA/QC, HR, Training Within Industry (TWI), material tracking, and job-site requirements.
• Collaborate with field service operations to drive standardized work practices, schedule certainty, and cost performance.
• Manage large change orders, scope growth, and monitor estimated vs. actual costs to improve future estimations.
• Support constructability reviews, execution plans, and technical estimating during early project stages.
• Build relationships with local and Indigenous communities to align with commitments and regulatory goals.
• Partner with client leadership for existing and prospective construction initiatives.
• Deliver a strong safety message by example and own incident trend analysis within SMS.
• Review and approve critical tasks, lift plans, and high-risk work procedures before execution.
• Ensure compliance with legislative and organizational standards across all trades.
