Job summary

Allnorth Consultants Limited is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead industrial project delivery with a strong safety-first mindset. You will oversee onsite activities, coordinate with engineering, and ensure compliance with plans and contracts across domestic and international projects.

You bring 10+ years in mining, pulp and paper, or heavy industry, excellent leadership, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Construction Manager in mining, pulp and paper, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Ability to interface with engineering and management teams.
  • Strong leadership with multi-disciplinary teams and client engagement.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines.
  • Proficient in 3D models, CAD software, and project schedules.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee all onsite construction activities.
  • Manage the Construction Execution Plan, Safety Management Plan, Environmental Management Plan, Quality Management Plan, Requests for Information, Change Notices, Non-Conformance Reports, commissioning and energization processes, as-built completions, and contract compliance.
  • Coordinate with engineering to ensure work meets specifications, standards, and contractual requirements while prioritizing safety.
  • Implement continuous improvements to positively impact project performance.
  • Assist with the recruitment, development, and retention of project teams, including internal team members, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Establish and maintain strong interpersonal relationships to communicate and collaborate with individuals at all levels.
  • Oversee regular project reporting covering cost, schedule, progress, KPIs, NCRs, and RFIs.
  • Develop remediation plans with the project team to address schedule or cost issues.
  • Work at project sites as required, depending on project needs.

A Day in the Life

What You’ll Bring to the Team
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Construction Manager in the mining, pulp and paper, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Academic qualifications and/or experience that enable you to effectively interface with engineering and management teams.
  • A results-oriented approach with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and timelines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, audit, and investigation skills.
  • Experience using 3D models, CAD software, and project schedules.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience working with multiple internal disciplines and external clients across civil, structural, process, electrical, mechanical, and other technical areas.
  • Working knowledge of contract terms and conditions, with the ability to manage work in accordance with contract specifications.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills within a diverse workgroup.
  • Availability to work at project sites as required, depending on project needs.
