Job summary

Sovereign Insurance's National Underwriting team seeks a Senior Underwriting Specialist to provide technical guidance and oversight for Commercial Automobile underwriting practices. You will lead portfolios, mentor colleagues, and help shape policy wordings, standards, and audit processes to deliver exceptional client outcomes.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in commercial auto underwriting, strong analytical skills, and experience across jurisdictions.

Qualifications

10+ years in commercial automobile underwriting with 5+ in senior/specialist roles.
Strong analytical skills and portfolio analysis expertise.
Experience in other lines of business is an asset.
Experience training, coaching, mentoring diverse teams.
Project and change management experience with deadlines.
Experience underwriting across multiple jurisdictions is an asset.
English proficiency required; French is an asset.

Responsibilities

Lead or participate in analysis of the Commercial Automobile underwriting portfolio to drive profitability.
Support design, development, and maintenance of policy wordings, guidelines, authorities, and tools.
Contribute to corporate underwriting standards, appetite, and philosophy.
Lead or participate in underwriting audits and ensure timely action plans.
Maintain forms, files, records and prepare reports and presentations.
