Job summary

Westinghouse Canada is seeking a CNC Machinist III to program and operate CNC machines, setup tooling, and machine precision components at our Peterborough facility. You will interpret drawings, plan tooling, perform machine setup, and conduct preventative maintenance to ensure reliability and efficiency.

You will report to the Shop Supervisor and work onsite in Peterborough, ON, with a focus on delivering quality parts within time constraints and collaborating with apprentices and CNC Operators.

Qualifications

• Provincial trade license obtained.
• 5 to 10 years experience in machining.
• Advanced ability to program, set up, and operate CNC machines.
• Senior-level experience with conventional and CNC machines.
• Strong ability to read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings.
• Advanced knowledge of hand precision measuring tools and inspection techniques.
• Plan, perform, and document preventative maintenance on machining equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving with capability to improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Follow all Risk Assessment requirements for the equipment being used.
• Deliver acceptable parts in the time allowed.
• Support apprentices and CNC Operators in set up and operation of equipment.
• Offer advice to design group when requested.
• Recommend/adapt improvements in tools, processes and procedures.
• Manage part programme files complete with back up
• Contribute to Tool Box talks and other communications.
