Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC in Peterborough, Ontario, is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to develop, optimize and maintain Mastercam programs for Mazak machines, focusing on milling, turning and multi-axis work.

You will review drawings, set up tooling, simulate programs, and support first-piece validation while reducing cycle times and improving quality. This onsite role reports to the Manufacturing Manager and requires a diploma and 5+ years experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Machining, Tool and Die, or equivalent.
• Advanced proficiency using Mastercam for milling, turning and multi-axis machining.
• Experience programming Mazak equipment using Mazatrol and G-code.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T requirements and 3D models.

About the role:

As a CNC Programmer, you will develop, optimize and maintain CNC machining programs for Mazak machine tools using Mastercam software. Your work will support milling, turning and multi-axis machining while improving cycle times, setup efficiency and product quality. You will also provide hands‑on support during machine setup, program prove‑out and first‑piece validation while resolving programming, tooling and machining issues.

You will report to the Manufacturing Manager and assigned to our Peterborough, Ontario, Canada facility. This is an onsite position.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $67,500 to $84,250 per year.
