Job summary

W Electric Canada Inc in Peterborough, Ontario is seeking a CNC Machinist II to program, set up tools, prepare fixtures, and machine precision components according to drawings. The role reports to the Shop Supervisor and is based on site at the Peterborough facility.

Qualifications include a provincial trade license and 5–10 years of experience in machine tools or entry level CNC operation, with strong tool drawing interpretation skills. Base salary ranges from $56,500 to $70,500 CAD per year.

• Deliver acceptable parts in the time allowed.
• Support apprentices and CNC Operators in set up and operation of equipment.
• Offer advice to design group when requested.
• Recommend/adapt improvements in tools, processes and procedures.
• Manage part programme files complete with back up
• Contribute to Tool Box talks and other communications.

About The Role

As a CNC Machinist II you will program, using drawing files and packaged conversion software, set tools, prepare fixtures and jigs and machine precision components/parts that meet the engineered drawings in the time allotted by the Manufacturing Process Instruction, while observing Risk Assessment requirements as they apply to each operation or machine.

You will report to the Shop Supervisor and be located onsite at our facility in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $56,500 to $70,500 per year.
