About The Role
Health Standards Organization (HSO) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Cloud Systems Administrator with strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure services to join our Global Digital Services team. Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, Infrastructure & Corporate Systems, this position will collaborate with other Global Digital Services teams to design and implement scalable and reliable cloud solutions while assessing future needs to scale Cloud and Azure resources enabling organizational stability and growth.
As the Senior Cloud Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for configuring, managing, maintaining, and optimizing our company's Cloud environment, as well as contributing to security and incident response capabilities according to business requirements. This position will provide technical guidance and gather crucial information to analyze our company’s business and technological needs and recommend suitable solutions for cloud (Azure) or hybrid infrastructure.
Main Responsibilities
- Managing user accounts, roles, and permissions within Azure using Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) through Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) to ensure secure and compliant access to cloud resources.
- Utilizing scripting tools like PowerShell to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Work closely with other teams to support cloud-based application deployment and provide technical support for Azure-related issues.
- Actively monitoring the performance and health of Azure services and resources for performance issues, alerts, and potential security threats; proactively identifying and addressing issues to ensure optimal performance and resolving problems related to cloud services.
- Oversee Azure subscriptions, monitoring usage, and enforcing governance policies to ensure compliance and cost control.
- Produce clear and detailed reports on infrastructure configurations, including recommendations for optimization, security and modernization.
- Manage and maintain the Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Teams.
- Maintain robust security measures to protect Azure environments, including configuring identity and access management, implementing network security controls, security policies including data encryption.
- Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions to protect data and ensure business continuity during system failures, data loss, or disasters, including backup policies, setting up recovery services, and testing disaster recovery plans regularly.
- Create and maintain documentation for technical procedures, policies, and standard processes related to cloud infrastructure and systems administration.
- Provide support through various channels, adhering to department SLAs; respond to emerging systems issues outside of business hours as part of an on-call rotation.
Must Have Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure cloud services and architecture and holds a Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate certification or equivalent.
- Proven track record of managing Azure cloud services, including virtual machines, networking, storage, active directory, domain controllers and app services.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts, such as virtual networks, subnets, VPNs, network security groups, and Azure Load Balancer.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Active Directory, Role-Based Access Control, and Azure Security Center.
- Skilled in using Azure monitoring tools, including Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure Application Insights, to ensure optimal performance.
- Proficient in using PowerShell or Azure CLI for automation and scripting tasks.
- Knowledgeable about backup solutions like Azure Backup and disaster recovery mechanisms like Azure Site Recovery.
- Experienced in leveraging Azure services to manage network security passwords, certificates etc.
- Good understanding of cost management and resource optimization within Azure cloud environments.
- Experienced in working on projects implementing SSO solutions.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in systems administration, with a focus on Azure cloud services.
- Strong knowledge and experience in utilizing Microsoft Sentinel for security monitoring and incident response.
- Knowledge of cloud security, governance, digital capabilities and Quality Assurance best practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve technical issues.
- Strong communication skills, adept at explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Have experience working with clients/organizations in the health-care sector.
- Experience working with Agile and Scrum framework.
- Have direct experience contributing to digital and business transformation projects.
