Job summary

Apera AI, a Vancouver-based robotics and AI company, is seeking a Software Development Engineer, Cloud Platform to build a secure, scalable infrastructure that delivers our 4D Vision software to customer devices. You’ll design a trusted channel, cloud-hosted deployment, and robust access controls for enterprise IT.

You’ll own infrastructure work end-to-end, including deployment tooling, data pipelines, cost controls, and production-readiness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building backend or platform infrastructure in production.
• Strong cloud experience (AWS preferred) and infrastructure-as-code.
• Practical networking and secure connectivity depth, with enterprise-grade approvals.
• Experience with authentication, authorization, and multi-tenant models.
• Comfort with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or TISAX.
• Python fluency and familiarity with data pipelines and observability.

Responsibilities

• Build the connectivity layer to devices with a secure, trusted channel for deployment, telemetry, and support.
• Create an enterprise-scale account and permissions structure for IT and cross-team resource sharing.
• Migrate deployment systems from on-premise to cloud with secure, versioned updates and RBAC.
• Link field devices to lab data for triage, labeling, and debugging to feed model training.
• Manage infrastructure as a business: cost attribution, lifecycle policies, and production vs. development separation.
• Turn internal tooling into shareable products with clear documentation and status tracking.
