Job summary

Geotab Inc. is seeking a Senior IT Cloud Operations Engineering Specialist to lead the evolution of our globally distributed cloud infrastructure, driving automation and AI-powered monitoring at scale.

You will bridge innovation and stability by implementing infrastructure as code, self-healing systems, and cost-optimization strategies to ensure reliability and security of our SaaS platform. The role requires a builder’s mindset, collaboration with multiple teams, and a track record of

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS or related field or equivalent experience.
7+ years of IT/Cloud Operations leadership experience on complex cloud infra projects.
Mastery of GCP and GKE; AWS experience is a plus.
Advanced PowerShell, Bash, and Python; Terraform for IaC.
Strong SQL skills (MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, BigQuery) and familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, Victoria Metrics.
Associate-level cloud certification (GCP or AWS) required; Professional-level certification valued; Generative AI certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and reinforce Geotab’s globally distributed cloud infrastructure and handle on-call pages and tickets.
Lead monitoring stack ownership (Prometheus, Grafana, Victoria Metrics) and automate certificate lifecycle management.
Implement AI/ML tools adoption across cloud operations and mentor teammates in AI-assisted scripting and workflows.
Work with Cloud Automation, Development, Security, Server Operations, and Solution Engineering teams to optimize infrastructure and costs.
