Job summary

Egis Group in Toronto, Canada seeks a Senior Engineer - Major Projects to lead roadway and highway design across complex infrastructure programs. You will oversee planning, detailed design, and delivery, coordinating across civil, transit, rail, and municipal systems.

The role requires 12+ years in transportation infrastructure, strong leadership, and proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams on large capital programs. Fluency in English and French, P.Eng.

Qualifications

• University degree in Engineering.
• P.Eng. or equivalent professional engineering designation preferred by the employer.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in engineering design, project management, or business development within the municipal infrastructure sector.
• Demonstrated expertise in transportation infrastructure design and project delivery.
• Strong experience in roadway engineering, highway design, and transportation corridor projects.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing technical project delivery.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated stakeholder engagement experience.
• Proven organizational and project coordination skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken French and English.
• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and engineering oversight for roadway and highway design components supporting major transportation infrastructure projects.
• Perform design review activities to ensure roadway deliverables comply with applicable standards, project requirements, and quality objectives.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering interfaces involving civil, transit, rail, aviation, and municipal infrastructure systems.
• Manage project execution from concept development through construction support while maintaining compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and review technical reports, engineering specifications, design documentation, and proposal submissions.
• Oversee project schedules and resource planning to support milestone achievement and delivery commitments.
• Lead and mentor engineering teams, providing technical guidance, conflict resolution, and performance support throughout project delivery.
• Support stakeholder coordination activities with clients, consultants, agencies, and project partners.
• Participate in RFQ and RFP proposal writing, including technical strategies, scope development, and submission reviews.
• Monitor project performance and contribute to risk management, project planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support business development activities within municipal infrastructure and public-sector transportation programs.
• Maintain awareness of industry practices, transportation engineering trends, and emerging infrastructure delivery methodologies.
